‘Covishield’ arrives in Delhi Ahmedabad - On January 12, the COVID-19 vaccine 'Covishield' arrived to Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. It was dispatched by Pune’s Serum Institute of India today. CEO of Delhi International Airport (DIAL), Videh Kumar Jaipuriar said, “Temperature-controlled facility, ranging from -20 degrees Celsius to +25 degrees Celsius, at our two Cargo terminals can efficiently and safely handle COVID-19 vaccines. Both terminals can handle around 5.7 million vials in a day.” The first consignment of vaccine will also arrive to Gujarat’s Ahmedabad. The Additional Director of Family Welfare Department of Gujarat, Dr Nilam Patel said, “2.76 lakh doses arriving here today will be given to Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar and Bhavnagar zones.” The COVID-19 vaccination drive will start in India from Jan 16. - Delhi - NCR reels under icy winds, fog hits normal life
Delhi-NCR reels under icy winds, fog hits normal life - The temperature has further dipped in Delhi-NCR. A low visibility was witnessed at Singhu border. The border area was reeling under thick layer of fog. The area near India Gate was also under cold weather. Cold waves have tightened its grip in Delhi and adjoining cities. According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), Delhi’s minimum temperature recorded at 4°C and maximum temperature was at 18°C today. Delhi Police arrests two proclaimed offender - Economic Offences Wing of Delhi Police arrested two proclaimed offender, husband and wife duo involved in the cheating by impersonation. In this regard, a complaint was received by the police. After preliminary enquiry a case was registered at PS EOW, New Delhi. During the course of investigation, documents submitted with the complainant lender company were obtained and scrutinized. On perusal of the certified copies received from the company, the complainant is shown as applicant and his family members have been shown as co-applicants. Signatures in the name of complainant have been made on every loan document while complainant claimed that he and his wife never signed any loan document and their signatures have been forged by his younger son and his wife. Accused and his wife were absconding to evade arrest. Thereafter, raids were conducted at the various possible hideouts of the accused.
